This Gran Reserva Brut Nature Cava is one of the top products produced by the Vilarnau winery.

It is made from a blend of 25% Macabeo and 25% Parellada, alongside a 50% Chardonnay aged in oak.

The 2010 vintage was remarkable. The grapes achieved and almost perfect ripeness and an excellent acidity.

The Chardonnay was harvested in mid August, while the two local varieties were harvested at the beginning of October.

All of the grapes come from organically farmed vineyards located in the highest area of Penedès.

Once in the cellar, the Chardonnay grapes were fermented in 225-litre French oak barrels from Allier with periodic stirrings. Then it was aged for 6 months in the barrels.

The Macabeo and the Parellada were fermented in stainless steel tanks.

FInally, Albert de Vilarnau Fermentado en Barrica 2010 was blended, completed secondary fermentation and was aged for a minimum of 48 months.

Drink this Cava until 2021.

Bright yellow colour with some golden glints.



Deep notes of quince jelly, honey and aromatic herbs, combined with aromas of ripe white fruit, white flowers, spices, balsam, dry fruit and pastry. Rich and complex.



Savoury and intense, with a lively acidity and a creamy, delicious character. Touches of baked apples, clove and vanilla, combined with hints of citrus, garrigue, almonds and butter. Long, delicately bitter finish.

Albert de Vilarnau Fermentado en Barrica 2010, with its grey label designed by Antonio Miró, is complex, well-crafted and thoroughly enjoyable.
