Alión 2012 is a red wine crafted by the Grupo Vega Sicilia, Spain's most prestigious wine brand, through its subsidiary winery Bodega Alión.
Harvested by hand and selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar, the grape bunches were destemmed and fermented with the grape skins for over a period of 15 days.
After that, the wine was aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels.
Finally, this reserve wine was aged for a further months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
Alión 2012 Mágnum has a great ageing potential. It will improve in its 1,5-litre bottle for about 15 years.
Decant a minimum of 2 hours before drinking.
Very bright, clean, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a crimson rim.
Very elegant, showing notions of ripe red berries, some hints of spices and touches of fine wood. On the background, aromas of blue flowers, balsam, underbush, cocoa and sandalwood.
Expressive, unctuous and finely textured, with notes of toast, red and black fruit, some smoky touches and a tense acidity. Slowly improving, and with plenty of room for growth. Long, expansive finish.

Alión 2012 Mágnum is extremely seductive and elegant. Within a few years, it will surely reach an even more remarkable degree of richness and complexity.
