A single varietal Grenache wine crafted by the Joan d'Anguera winery, Altaroses is made from grapevines which have been organically and biodynamically grown since 2012.

The Demeter certified vineyards are planted in clayey, rocky and limestone soils right in the heart of Montsant.

Harvested at an optimal ripening state, this Spanish red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 days, after which they were transferred into concrete vats to complete malolactic fermentation.

Finally, 20% of the wine was aged in 2nd year oak barrels and the rest remained in the concrete vats for 12 months.

Naturally stabilized by the winter cold, Altaroses 2017 was not filtered prior to its bottling.

Drink until 2022. Aerate some time before drinking.

Additional Information

The wine Altaroses has a clean, bright, medium cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

This single varietal red wine from Montsant offers some very pure aromas of red fruits and flowers, along with notions of aromatic herbs, underbush, balsam and bitter chocolate. A clean, transparent nose this red wine by Joan d'Anguera has.

Remarkably fresh, crisp and linear, this organic and biodynamic Grenache red wine exhibits pristine suggestions of raspberries, blackberries, citrus rind, thyme and a dash of smoke. Lively acidity and medium finish.

Our personal opinion

Inviting and unspoofulated, Altaroses 2017 conveys an impression of balance and purity.

  2. rosy review by Anti establishment on 6/13/2018

Understated and unspoofulated, this is Montsant at its unoaked, anti-international best. Will keep drinking this.

Kind of a UFO coming form Montsant. Outstandingly pure, with an amazing texture. Fruit is succulent and delicate. 5 stars!!
