Here is the new vintage of Angelitos Negros, an old favourite of our customers. A wonderfully drinkable and fresh Spanish red wine produced by Vinos y Viñedos de la Casa Maguila.

A single varietal Tinta de Toro, it is made from grapes coming from vines 20 to 40 years of age, located in the very heart of the DO Toro.

Once in the cellar, 30% of the grapes were fermented uncrushed. The rest were crushed before beginning the process.

Then this red wine from Toro was transferred into concrete tanks, where it completed malolactic fermentation.

After that, Angelitos Negros 2017 was aged in 1st to 3rd year French and American oak barrels for 6 months.

Finally, the wine was stabilized prior to its bottling. Drink until 2022.

Additional Information

The red wine Angelitos Negros has a bright, attractive, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

This single varietal Tinta de Toro smells delicious. Cranberries, strawberries and blackberries, nicely intertwined with aromas of violets, lavender and flowers. On the background, a touch of fine wood, spices and dim mineral undertones.

Fresh and honest, this red wine from Toro has an irrestibly juicy character. Lively red and black fruit, punctuated by notes of spices, balsam and underbrush. This Tinta de Toro by Vinos y Viñedos de la Casa Maguila has some crunchy tannins, a very good acidity and a long, pleasant finish.

Our personal opinion

Yummy and unpretentious, Angelitos Negros 2017 is an excellent value from Toro.

One of my absolute favourites for BBQs. Greetings from Oxfordshire!!

  2. angel review by Larry Oldfield on 10/30/2017

A nice value indeed!! Interestingly tannic, mildly floral, with deep earthy remembrances. All in all, it remains pleasant and approachable.
