Angosto Almendros 2012 is the top wine of the El Angosto winery.
The little-known Marselan, incidentally, is a cross of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon developed by the French INRA (Institute of Agricultural Research) in the 1960s.
Meticulously vinified, the wine was aged for 15 months in French oak barrels.
Drink now until 2022+.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
This wine has a very limited production.
Bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
Expressive notes of black fruit, sweet spices, remembrances of cedar and balsam, subtle hints of Mediterranean undergrowth and a dash of Havanna cigars, cocoa, lavender and toast.
Complex and moreish, with a solid structure, good grip and some crisp, lively tannins. Red fruit, some mineral undertones, a dash of herbs and spices and some floral remembrances. Very good acidity and long finish.
