Finca El Otero 2012 is a single estate Spanish red wine produced by the Bodega Áster winery.
The 7.5-hectare plot of vineyards was planted in 1961 in the town of Anguix, near the city of Burgos, at the very heart of the Ribera del Duero region.
Harvested by hand at their optimal ripening level, the grapes were destemmed, gently crushed and destemmed for 16 days in stainless steel tanks.
Then this varietal Tinta del País was transferred into new American oak barrels, and 2nd year French oak barrels to complete malolactic fermentation.
After that, the wine was aged in new French oak barrels for a period of 16 months.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.
Drink now until 2025. Production of 26,000 numbered bottles.
Áster Finca el Otero has an intense, clean, high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
This Tinta del País from Ribera del Duero displays intense notes of ripe red berries, followed by aromas of toast, some spicy touches, a dash of black pepper and remembrances of burnt sugar. On the background, seductive nuances of menthol, balsam and violets.
This crianza red wine by Bodega Áster is bold, meaty and well-structured, with a very good acidity and delicious tannins. Notes of toast, cocoa, blue flowers, chocolate, blackcurrants and dry earth. Long, elegant finish with some balsamic and toasted remembrances.

Yeah! The wine has a tight body, but at the same time is smooth and caressing to the palate. A fine Tempranillo.
