The vines grow in soils composed mainly of sandstone, limestone and conglomerates.
The vineyards are located in a pristine environment, surrounded by olive trees, holm oaks and aromatic plants.
Climate is harsh, with hot summers and dry, cold winters.
Harvest of Bàrbara Forés Coma d´En Pou 2015 was carried out by hand.
The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks for several weeks. Then they were macerated for a month, transferred into French oak barrels from Allier, and aged for over a period of 16 months.
Drink now until 2023.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.
Bàrbara Forés Coma d'en Pou has a bright, clean, medium cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
This Crianza red wine by Bàrbara Forés shows notes of ripe red fruit, liquor-infused fruit, liquorice, some vegetal hints, notions of undergrowth and a dash of smoke and cocoa. An intense and rewarding nose.
Characteristic and complex, this red wine from Terra Alta is velvety-bodied and exceedingly drinkable. Pure flavours of red fruit, intertwined with hints of chocolate, toast, garrigue, dry earth, white mineral and balsam. Ripe, savoury tannins, good acidity and long, persistent finish.

Superb. Concentration, grip, depth and intensity.
I'm getting to love the wines from Terra Alta. If you like the intensity of Priorat reds but sometimes you find the wines a little bit too earthy for your taste, try this one. And a nice price it has too.
