This Cava, Bertha Segle XXI 2007, is a produced in Penedès by Caves Bertha.

A Brut Nature Gran Reserve, it is made from a traditional blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada, complemented with a 15% Chardonnay.

After a meticulous harvest and a traditional vinification, this Cava was aged for a minimum of 36 months in the cellar.

Drink Bertha Segle XXI until 2022.

Open the bottle a minimum of 30 minutes before drinking.

Appearance

This Cava Gran Reserva Bertha Siglo XXI has a clean, bright yellow colour with some golden tinges.

 

Nose

Extremely suggestive and inviting, this Cava from Penedès by Caves Bertha smells of pastry, dry fruit and candied white fruit. Notes of underbrush and aromatic herbs, and a tip of flowers and English custard.

 

Palate

Fresh, medium-bodied and caressing, with a delicate texture and a sensous mousse. At 10 years of age, this Brut Nature Cava by Caves Bertha feels young and lively.  Balance is excellent, and the nuances we found on the nose are enlivened by some elegant, delicately bitter nuances and a crisp acidity. Very long finish.

 

Our personal opinion

For those in search of a wine to accompany a whole meal, Bertha Siglo XXI 2007 Gran Reserva by the Cavas Bertha winery is an excellent choice.

    Value

    Relatively obscure producer, difficult to find outside of Spain. Very good product. Ten years of age and still improving. No hints of fatigue or evolution. Very good.
