Coming from medium altitude vineyards of Pinot Noir and Trepat, Bohigas Brut Rosat is a fresh, refined rosé sparkling wine crafted by the Fermí Bohigas winery. This company, incidentally, has been praised by newspapers such as The New York Times by the quality of its products.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and macerated for a brief period of time with the skins, the two wines were blended and bottled in order to complete secondary fermentation. Then Bohigas Brut Rosat was aged for 12 months in the bottle and mechanically disgorged before its commercial release.
Drink now to 2017.
Appearance | Intense, bright rosy colour with crimson tinges. |
---|---|
Nose | Fresh aromas of strawberries, raspberries and cherries, along with some creamy notes and hints of toast. |
Palate | Bohigas Brut Rosat is light, fruity and easy to drink. The wine displays tingling notes of red fruit combined with notions of pastry, a very good acidity, and a long, persistent finish. |
Our personal opinion | Bohigas Brut Rosat is an affordable, satisfying, well-crafted rosé Cava. |
