This is the new vintage of Borsao Tres Picos, a single varietal Grenache which is widely recognised as one of Spain's absolute top values.
Planted in rocky soils, the grapevines grow at an altitude of 600-700 metres above sea level, subject to a tough Continental climate.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks under strict temperature control, this Crianza red wine was macerated with the skins for several weeks.
Before its bottling, Borsao Tres Picos 2017 was aged for 5 months in new French oak barrels.
Drink this varietal Grenache until 2024.
The red wine Borsao Tres Picos has a bright, clean cherry colour with a violet rim.
This red wine from Campo de Borja is inviting and expressive. Aromas of ripe red fruit, in all of its variants, combined with some toasted notions and notes of liquorice, aromatic herbs, and even some floral overtones.
This varietal Grenache from Aragón is fruit-driven and nicely crafted. Notes of red plums and dried blackberries, sustained by a good acidity and nuanced by some herbal touches. The wine has a remarkable freshness, and tannins are savoury and ripe. This wine by Bodegas Borsao has a medium finish, with an aftertaste of spices and underbrush.
