Details

A very interesting Spanish red wine from the region of MontsantBrunus is produced by the Portal del Montsant winery.

Crafted from 56% Carignan and 44% Grenache, the vineyards are between 25 and 50 years old.

After a rigorous selection process, the grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then Brunus 2016 was transferred into new and 2nd year old French oak barrels where it was aged for 12 months.

Drin this Crianza red wine until 2022.

Decant 30 minutes before drinking.

Additional Information

Appearance

The red wine Brunus has a deep cherry colour with a violet rim.

Nose

Pure and well-defined aromas of blackberries, raspberries and cherries, indicative of a blend of Grenache and Carignan, intertwined with some lactic and spicy aromas and a dim mineral layer with some balsamic nuances.

Palate

This red wine by Portal del Montsant has a very pleasant and fresh entry onto the palate. It has a nimble passage with very silky tannins and a crisp acidity. The ending is long and satisfying, bringing back aromas of black fruit and a note of ginger, cinnamon and clove.

Our personal opinion

The Montsant red wine Brunus 2016 is both honest and excellently priced.
