Details

A single varietal Tinta del País, this Spanish red wine is produced by Bodegas Rodero.

Crafted from vineyards planted about 20 years ago, Carmelo Rodero 9 meses Mágnum belongs to the DO Ribera del Duero.

After the harvest, the grapes were destemmed and gently crushed. Then they were fermented in stainless steel tanks.

After that, Carmelo Rodero 9 meses Mágnum 2017 completed malolactic fermentation and was transferred into French and American oak barrels, where it was aged for a period of 9 months.

Then, this 1,5 litre-bottle with its characteristic grey label was aged for a further 3 months in the cellar.

Drink this red wine from Ribera del Duero until 2028.

Additional Information

Appearance

The red wine Carmelo Rodero 9 Meses Mágnum has a bright, clean medium cherry-coloured robe with a bluish rim.

Nose

This intense red wine from Ribera del Duero smells fresh and pure. A textbook Tinta del País (aka Tempranillo), with aromas of wild berries, some herbal remembrances and hints of underbrush, balsam and toast combined with some dim spicy overtones.

Palate

Clean and focused, with a balanced acidity and ripe, yummy tannins. This wine by Carmelo Rodero is nimble and joyful, with a balanced acidity and some lively tannins. Medium-long, fresh finish reminiscent of blackberries and dry earth.

Our personal opinion

Easy-to-drink and extremely enjoyable, Carmelo Rodero 9 meses Mágnum 2017 will improve in the bottle for some years.

For 20 bucks, this is a steal. Very good Ribera, with that earthy character I like so much.
