The new vintage of this Crianza red wine from Jumilla has had its composition changed.
Manually harvested, the grapes were selected on site and in the cellar. After that, they were cold-soaked for about 5 days.
Once both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were completed, Casa de la Ermita Crianza 2012 was aged for 9 months in 225-litre American and French oak barrels.
A ridiculously good value crafted by Casa de la Ermita, this wine will improve over the next 5 years.
Decant a minimum of 30 minutes before drinking.
Intense, very bright cherry colour with some reddish glints.
Juicy aromas of black fruit, chocolate, black pepper, Mediterranean undergrowth, vegetables, violets and some remembrances of dry earth and minerals.
A great combination of boldness and finesse. Smooth, deep and satisfying, showing suggestions of underbush, cocoa, blackberries, tree bark, balsam and spices. Lively tannins, excellent, crisp acidity and long, uplifting finish with some forest-evoking remembrances.
|Our personal opinion||
We'll say it again: Casa de la Ermita Crianza 2012 is actually too good for its price.
