This Spanish red wine from the Jumilla Designation of Origin is quite a special product.

Crafted by Casa de la Ermita, Casa de la Emita Petit Verdot is made solely from Petit Verdot grapes. A rare, late-ripening and difficult variety indigenous to Bordeaux, Petit Verdot has found a new home in Spain, where it has enough sun to ripen slowly and steadily.

First the grapes were first cold-soaked and fermented at a controlled temperature.

Then Casa de la Ermita Petit Verdot 2014 underwent malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels, where it was aged for 12 months.

Drink now until 2022. Decant 30 minutes before drinking.

Additional Information

The red wine Casa de la Ermita Petit Verdot has a bright violet-coloured robe with some blueish edges.

Aromas of prunes, blackberries and mulberries, combined with notes of orange peel, cinnamon, lilacs, clove and laurel. On the background, this Petit Verdot from Jumilla suggests some mineral suggestions and some earthy notes.

Powerful and focused, with some crunchy tannins and a distinctive character. This red wine by Casa de la Ermita is electric and lively, with ripe fruit combined with some bitter nuances, aromas of aromatic herbs and a thin mineral layer. Superb acidity and long finish.

Very Bordeux, intense and expansive. Give it a couple of years to fully come together.
