The wine Casal de Armán Tinto is made from the native varieties Sousón, Caiño Longo and Brancellao.

The vines are planted on mild slopes with soils composed of granitic sand and slate.

The grapes of this Spanish red wine from Galicia, marketed under the Ribeiro DO label, were harvested by hand at their optimal ripening state.

Once in the cellar, they were macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. Then the wine was drawn off prior to malolactic fermentation.

Finally, Casal de Armán Tinto 2015 was aged for 11 months in the steel tanks and for a further 3-4 months in the cellar of the Casal de Armán winery prior to its release.

Drink this red wine from Ribeiro until 2021. Production of 4,000 bottles.

Additional Information

The red wine Casal de Armán has a very bright, clean, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

This unoaked Ribeiro red wine is fresh and Atlantic. Aromas of red berries over a mineral background reminiscent of dry stone, some herbal notes and watery hints, and a dash of smoke and herbs.

Linear, crisp and well-structured. This red wine by the Casal de Armán winery has a superb acidity, smooth tannins and a medium body. Some smokey and balsamic remembrances, hand in hand with wild berries. Medium-long, fresh finish.

Our personal opinion

The Ribeiro red wine Casal de Armán Tinto 2015 pairs well with hot stews and warming soups.

  1. Ribeiro tinto review by Guthrie on 10/24/2017

If you're looking for a TRULY different kind of red wine, look no further: this is it. The fruit is juicy and ripe, but you do not feel the sun. Insted of that, the wine leaves an intensely salty and citrus sensation, a feature that sets it apart from almost any other red wine. VERY interesting!!
