A characterful, dry Spanish white wine made from Moscatel Romano - a local clone of Muscat of Alexandria, - Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada is produced in the southeastern Spanish region of Alicante.

The vineyards are located in the Jalón Valley, at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level. Soils are composed of clay and limestone.

Crafted by the Gutiérrez de la Vega winery, the grapes that went into the production of this dry white wine from Alicante were harvested at the beginning of September.

Once pressed, they were fermented in stainless steel tanks for over a period of 15 days. Then the wine completed malolactic fermentation and was aged on its lees in the tanks for 5 months.

Finally, Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada 2017 was gently filtered prior to its bottling.

Production of 10,000 bottles.

Additional Information

The white wine Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada has a pale, clean, very bright yellow colour with some greenish tinges.

Notes of citrus, lime rind, lemon pulp and orange peel. Extremely rich on the nose, this dry Muscat from Alicante also suggests aromas of ginger, orange blossom, jasmine and mint, combined with some notions of salt, pears, smoke, english custard and puff pastry.

Fresh and crisp, with a refreshing acidity, a surprisingly linear character, and a smooth texture. This white wine by the Gutiérrez de la Vega winery has a long, seductive finish.

Our personal opinion

A fresh, elegant wine, Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada 2017 immediately evokes a sunny Mediterranean landscape. The stark contrast between its fragrant nose and dry palate is most interesting.

Honey, apricots and grapes. Lots of aromas and a sharp, crisp palate. Very good.
