Produced by Castillo Perelada, Cigonyes Blanc is a Spanish white wine made solely from Macabeo.

This wine from L'Empordà was produced only from the "free-run" juice.

Once the wine must was obtained, Cigonyes Blanc 2018 was fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 14ºC.

The wine was not aged in oak to preserve the freshness and quality of the fruit.

The name of the wine, Cigonyes (Storks), alludes to a successful stork repopulation program undertaken some years ago by the Castillo Perelada winery.

Additional Information

The wine Cigonyes Blanc has a clean, light, pale yellow colour with some bright greenish tinges.

Intense aromas of white fruit, particularly pears and lychees, define the nose of this young white wine by Castillo Perelada, intertwined with notes of spices, herbs, flowers and citrus. A Macabeo with a clear varietal character.

This varietal Empordà white wine is light and easy, but very savoury. Fruit, flowers and a delicately salty touch. Cigonyes Blanc by Perelada has a very good acidity and a pleasant, fresh finish.

  1. perelada white review by Jamie on 2/5/2019

Leesy and yummy, and fortunately not very acidic-for me, the problem with many white wines.

  2. cigonyes review by Sister Mary on 9/6/2017

Herbs, a bitter touch and some lemon and pears. GOod.
