In the southern Catalan region of Costers del Segre, the word "coma" refers to a valley, and "comalada" designates a succession of valleys.
The same valleys, incidentally, where the vines used to produce this organic wine Comalats Cabernet Sauvignon are grown following organic and biodynamic procedures.
Cabernet has definitely found a second home in the Costers del Segre region, as it grows in fresh, clay limestone soils located at an altitude over 700 metres above sea level.
Harvested by hand and carefully destemmed, the grapes used to produce the organic wine Comalats Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 were cold-soaked for 17 days. Then the wine was aged for 8 months in stainless steel tanks before its bottling.
Cherry colour with a violet hue at the rim.
This Spanish organic red wine Comalats Cabernet displays very pure notes of red fruit, along with notes of garrigue and some mineral hints.
Muscular and bold, but without a trace of flabbiness. Luscious notes of red fruit and undergrowth, vibrant tannins, tense acidity and a long finish with notes of liquor-infused fruit.
|Our personal opinion||
Honest and unoaked, Comalats Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 pairs wonderfully with a classic roast beef.
