Convento San Francisco 2010 is a single varietal Tempranillo made from vines aged 25 to over 100 years old.
Located at altitudes between 760 and 970 metres above sea level, the vineyards are grown in sandy, clay and limestone soils in Ribera del Duero.
The grapes of this Spanish red wine by the Convento San Francisco winery were harvested by hand and carefully destemmed.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation and a 15-month ageing period took place in French and American oak barrels.
Convento de San Francisco 2010 will improve in the bottle for a minimum of 6-7 years.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
Very bright, clean, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a crimson rim.
Lively notes of black fruit, roasted coffee, cocoa, combined with aromas of fine wood, Jamaica pepper, balsam and undergrowth.
Well-structured and savoury, evoking some mineral notions, and remembrances of balsam, ripe black fruit and dry earth. Refreshing acidity, bold tannins, and a long, spicy finish.
