Details

This is the new vintage of Corimbo, the project of Bodegas Roda in Ribera del Duero.

This single varietal Tinta del País (aka Tempranillo) is made from a selection of the best grapes coming from 40 hectares of vineyards owned by local peasants. All of them are planted at an altitude over 800 metres and are 20 years of age on average.

The 2014 vintage of this Crianza red wine was a very good, almost outstanding one. As a result, the wine is more elegant and expressive than in previous years.

Vinified in stainless steel tanks and oak vats, after completing malolactic fermentation this red wine from Ribera del Duero was aged in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels for 14 months.

Finally, Corimbo 2014 was clarified with egg whites.

Drink this wine of Bodegas La Horra until 2026.

Decant 1 hour before drinking.

Additional Information

Appearance

The red wine Corimbo has a cherry red colour with some bluish tinges.

Nose

This varietal Tinta del País from Ribera del Duero smells of wild berries, moka, cocoa, coffee and Havanna cigars. On the background, some earthy notes and remembrances of pine needles, rockrose and marjoram, a clear terroir imprint.

Palate

Smooth and silky, this Corimbo by La Horra has a very good acidity and some smooth tannins. There are some truly interesting details here, and texture is really nice. This red wine by Bodegas Roda perfectly balances the fruit, the spicy notions and some terroir-orientated notes. Fresh and lively, with a long finish.

Our personal opinion

Elegant and accessible, Corimbo 2014 is perfect for sharing with friends.

Excellent Ribera for daily consumption. Far from samey or overblown, it has nuance and finesse.
