Cristiari d'Alòs 2015 is a single varietal wine produced by the Vall de Baldomar winery.
The wine was vinified following an interesting procedure.
After being harvested and destemmed, the grapes were crushed and the "free-run" juice was cooled before fermentation.
Once alcoholic fermentation was completed, the wine was macerated again, and then it underwent malolactic fermentation.
Finally, it was aged for 2 months in French oak barrels.
Drink this red wine over the next 2 years.
Cristiari d'Alòs has an intense cherry colour with a garnet rim.
This Merlot from Costers del Segre smells of red berries, vegetables and spices, nuanced by remembrances of vanilla, clove, eucalyptus, dry earth and mineral.
Medium-bodied and nicely balanced, with plenty of freshness and good grip. This red wine by Vall de Baldomar conveys notes spices and toast, underscored by remembrances of red fruit, garrigue and balsam. Mild tannins, good acidity and long finish.

Unexpectedly nice. Smooth as a typical Merlot, but fresher.
This is a very pure Merlot. Smooth and very easy to drink, and very well produced.
