This interesting Spanish red wine was vinified following an interesting procedure. After being harvested and destemmed, the grapes were crushed and the "free-run" juice was cooled before fermentation.
Once alcoholic fermentation was completed, this red wine from Costers del Segre was macerated for a short period of time. Then it was transferred into Central European oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation.
After that, Cristiari d'Alòs 2018 was aged for 2 months in the barrels.
The Spanish red wine Cristiari d'Alòs has an intense cherry colour with a garnet rim.
This red wine from Vall de Baldomar smells of red berries, vegetables and spices, nuanced by remembrances of vanilla, clove, eucalyptus, dry earth and mineral.
Medium-bodied and nicely balanced, with plenty of freshness and good grip. This varietal Merlot conveys notes spices and toast, underscored by remembrances of red fruit, garrigue and balsam. A wine from Costers del Segre with some mild tannins, good acidity and long finish.
|Our personal opinion||
The young Spanish red wine Cristiari d'Alòs 2018 is certainly drinkable and characterful. We suggest combining it with a nice pair of scrambled eggs with sausage.

Unexpectedly nice. Smooth as a typical Merlot, but fresher.
This is a very pure Merlot. Smooth and very easy to drink, and very well produced.
