Davila L-100 2013 is a very rare, remarkable single varietal Loureiro-a Galician indigenous variety-made from centenary vineyards.
This Spanish white wine was produced in the Rías Baixas DO by the Adegas Valmiñor winery.
Late-harvested, the grapes were brought to the cellar in little boxes to avoid fruit damage, and once there they were meticulously selected.
Then they were cold-soaked for several hours, pressed with a pneumatic press, drawn off, and fermented at a controlled temperature.
After that, the wine was aged on its lees in stainless steel tanks for over a period of 6 months.
Finally, the wine was stabilized, filtered and bottled.
Davila L-100 2013 rested for 60 days in the bottle before its release.
Drink until 2020.
Clean, bright, straw yellow colour with some greenish tinges.
Notes of ripe apricots and peaches, along with aromas of jasmine, lychee and aniseed underpinned by dim mineral notions.
Almost literally a flower balm. Enticing and fresh, with a crisp acidity and a remarkable balance. The wine truly possesses a distinctive character. Evocative, dreamy finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Davila L-100 2013 shows an almost ideal combination between opulence and freshness.

I read the tasting note at Decanter and decided to buy it. Great, great white. Super well defined and vertical, with top acidity and sense of place.
