Details

Dehesa la Granja 2009 is, as all of the great Alejandro Fernández's wines, a single varietal Tempranillo.

This red wine by the creator of the legendary Tinto Pesquera was made from grapes harvested at their optimal ripening state.

Vinified in the facilities of the Dehesa la Granja winery, the wine was aged for 24 months in American oak barrels, and then for a further 12 months in the cellar.

This wine, that bears the label Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León, is bold and powerful. Thus, we suggest that you decant it a minimum of 1 hour before you drink it.

Dehesa la Granja 2009 has a great ageing potential.

Drink now until 2025.

Additional Information

Appearance

Very bright, intense, high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Nose

Notes of ripe black fruit, cranberry jam and fresh herbs over a background of exotic spices, balsam, cocoa and tobacco.

Palate

Meaty and bold, with a big structure that is perfectly balanced by its remarkable acidity. Ripe tannins and long, fruity finish with some remembrances of spices, underbush and toast.

Our personal opinion

Dehesa la Granja 2009 is a great wine that needs some aeration and time in order to express its quality. Pair it with substantial meals.
