Interestingly, the grapes used to produce D.G. Viticultors Brut come from vineyards located at altitudes between 770 and 800 metres in some of Penedès most remote and unspoiled landscapes, not far from the town of Pontons.
While possessing an uncompromisingly Mediterranean character, the temperatures are milder than the Penedès' average. This fact allows the grapes to ripen slowly and steadily. As for the soils, the plots alternate some shallow, limestone soils with low levels of organic matter, with clay loam soils pepperd with gravel and rocks.
The grapes were harvested in late September. Once in the cellar, they were destemmed and gently crushed, after which only 45% of the resulting most was fermented.
Finally, the Chardonnay Cava DG Viticultors Brut 2012 was aged for a minimum of 15 months.
Pale and delicate, the Cava D.G. Viticultors Brut has a waxy colour with some steely tinges.
Delicate and aromatic, this brut cava by DG Viticultors from Penedés suggests aromas of white fruit, pears and green melon, together with some herbal notions, quince, fine lees and English custard.
This single varietal Chardonnay is fresh, smooth and silky. Less fruit-oriented than on the nose, it has a creamy mousse and scintillating acidity. Delicately bitter, with a vegetal remembrance. Medium finish reminiscent of fine lees.

Elegant and versatile, DG Viticultors Brut 2012 is a Cava that deserves to be better known.
