Produced in the ever-more interesting region of Terra Alta, this Spanish red wine is a more than simply an excellent value.
The plants grow in several plots with different types of soils located near the town of Gandesa.
Separately harvested, the grapes of this Crianza red wine were vinified in stainless steel tanks. After that, they were blended and aged for 12 months in 300-litre French oak barrels.
Aerate Via Edetana Negre 2017, from the Edetària winery, 1 hour before drinking.
The wine Edetana Negre has an intense cherry colour with a garnet rim.
Pleasantly Mediterranean, this red wine from Terra Alta is full of ripe red and black fruit, nuanced by some deep balsamic notions and notes of toast and spices over a dim mineral background.
Intense and juicy, but also crisp and fresh, this red wine by Edetària has a good balance between a very lively fruit and an understated oak. Besides the spices, there are some interesting hints of blue flowers, with noticeable mineral notions and a dash of broom and garrigue. This wine aged for 12 months in oak has a very good acidity, with ripe tannins, and a long, toasted finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Somewhat fresher than in previous vintages, Edetana Negre 2017 continues to be an extremely versatile and pleasant wine.

Terra Alta is a source of stupendous values. This is well-made, totally enjoyable and completely unpretentious.
No flaws here, just a good wine. Not too oaky, not too muscular, not too tart. I liked it very much.
