Harvested by hand in mid September, the grapes of this Spanish red wine were first cold-macerated and then fermented in tanks.
After that, this red wine from Aragón was drawn off and transferred into French and American oak barrels to complete malolactic fermentation.
Finally, this wine by Edra Bodega y Viñedos was aged for 12 months on its lees in the barrels.
Decant Edra XtraSyrah 2014 30 minutes before drinking.
Drink until 2022.
The red wine Edra XtraSyrah has a clean, bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
After some aeration, this red wine from Huesca shows complex notes of spices, balsam, roasted coffee, undergrowth and flowers, over a deep background of black fruit and mineral nuances. A nicely varietal Syrah.
Meaty, yummy and palate-coating. Fruit is more palpable than in the nose, nuanced by hints of chocolate, toffee and toast. This wine by Edra Bodegas y Viñedos has some round tannins, a good acidity and a long, slightly bitter finish.
