Details

Produced by Bodega Finca de la Rica, the red wine El Buscador is made from a blend of Tempranillo (80%) and Grenache (20%).

The grapes of this Spanish red wine come from low-yielding vines located in the town of Labastida, in the western zone of La Rioja. Average altitude is 600 metres above sea level.

After the harvest, this red wine from La Rioja was vinified with 25% of the grape bunches undestemmed. A portion of the wine completed malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, while the rest underwent the process in French oak barrels.

Then El Buscador 2016 was aged for 12 months in 70% 2nd and 3rd year French oak barrels, and in 30% American oak ones. Finally, it was blended and aged for some time in the bottle.

Fresh and drinkable, during the hot summer days this Crianza red wine should be enjoyed slightly cool.

Additional Information

Appearance

The Spanish red wine El Buscador has a clean, intense, bright, medium-high cherry coloured robe with a violet rim.

Nose

This blend of Tempranillo and Grenache suggests fresh and straightforward aromas of ripe wild berries, nuanced by aromas of spices, cinnamon, black chocolate, coffee, toast, liquorice and pepper.

Palate

Savoury notes of red fruit, alongside flavours of chocolate, vanilla, some lactic touches and some balsamic and toasted hints. This red wine from Finca de la Rica is smooth and medium-bodied, with a good acidity and mild tannins. Gentle, spicy finish.

Our personal opinion

Fresh, gentle, conversational... El Buscador 2016 delivers a satisfying drinking experience.

Difficult to beat. Lightly aged red with good fruit. Rioja is good for ya man.

An uncommon Grenache from Rioja. Fresh and strawberry-like. Drinks like water. Good!!
