El Grifo Malvasía Seco Colección is a dry Spanish white wine made from Malvasía grapes.
The grapes come from ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines planted in volcanic soils in Lanzarote, and they constitute a landscape of otherworldly beauty amidst one of the most enchanting islands in the Canary archipelago.
The grapes of this white wine of the Bodegas El Grifo winery were harvested by hand following traditional procedures.
Once in the cellar, they were fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
After that, the wine was aged on its lees in order to enhance its creaminess and roundness. Finally, it was gently filtered and clarified.
El Grifo Malvasía Seco Colección 2017, from the Lanzarote DO, is a white wine made from volcanic Malvasía with a truly unique character.
El Grifo Malvasía Seco has a very bright, clean, pale yellow colour with some greenish glints and some steely tinges.
This white wine from Lanzarote is remarkably original. Aromas of pineapple, passion fruit, lime and white flowers, punctuated by remembrances of aromatic herbs and some intriguing mineral undertones and hints of volcanic earth.
Harmonious and very refreshing. This Malvasía volcánica by Bodega El Grifo brings to the mind remembrances of mint, honey, white fruit, bitter herbs, and some mineral intimations. Great tension and focus, crisp acidity, and long, refreshing finish.

When in Lanzarote, drink Lanzarote wine. I enjoyed it very much and, back home, I ordered some cases right away.
Lanzarote's most representative wine. Incredible aromas of pumice stone and volcanic earth, with a smooth body and a delicious ending.
