This Crianza red wine from the Madrid DO is remarkably interesting.
It is produced by Carlos Falcó, Marquis of Griñón and owner of the Marqués de Griñón winery.
Some decades ago, he was a pioneer in the introduction of international grapes in Central Spain.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were destemmed, gently macerated and fermented.
After that, the wine was aged for 10 months in new and demi-new French oak barrels.
The wine was not filtered or clarified before its bottling, so it may present some sediment.
Nice cherry colour with a garnet rim.
Complex and original, with intense notes of fruits, combined with aromas of flowers, deep mineral undertones, remembrances of underbush and dim spicy touches.
Bold and rich, with a distinctive character and an intriguing complexity. Crisp acidity, great freshness and silky texture. Black fruit, aromatic herbs, some earthy and mineral notions and floral overtones. Long, deep finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Made from an original blend of grapes, El Rincón 2010 shows an excellent balance and an almost Atlantic freshness.
