Produced by Bodega Elías Mora, Elías Mora Crianza is made from old Tinta de Toro grapevines. All along the year, the plants must endure the ordeal of an extremely severe Continental climate, with bitterly cold winters and blisteringly hot summers.
Harvested at dusk, the grapes were brought to the premises and selected prior to being destemmed. Then they were fermented in stainless steel tanks and macerated for a period of 20 days.
After that, this Spanish red wine was drawn off and transferred into 50% French and 50% American oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for a period of 12 months.
Finally, this single varietal Tinta de Toro was filtered and aged for a further 6 months in the bottle.
Drink Elías Mora Crianza 2015 from the DO Toro over the next 7 years.
Decant it 1 hour before drinking.
The red wine Elías Mora Crianza has a high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Complex, inviting aromas typical of a Tinta de Toro. Juicy suggestions of red and black fruit, combined with hints of tobacco, spices and flowers over a mineral and floral background reminiscent of violets.
Bold and pleasantly warm, this Tinta de Toro by Elías Mora makes quite an entrance onto the palate. Meaty, well-structured and lively, it nevertheless has an excellent acidity that counterbalances its weight. Spicier than on the nose, with hints of liquorice, toffee and cocoa. The tannins are smooth, and the finish is uplifting and slightly mineral.
|Our personal opinion||
Dense, savoury and surprisingly fragrant, Elías Mora Crianza 2015 is a quintessential Toro wine.

I'd give it 4 stars if only quality was to be considered. The price is so good that it makes this a 5-star wine for me.
Big structure with a very nice perfume and some deep, deep mineral notes. Intriguing and interesting.
