This is the Magnum bottling of Aalto PS (Pagos Seleccionados) of Bodegas Aalto, a high-end Spanish red wine made solely from old Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) vineyards planted in some of the best terroirs in DO Ribera del Duero.
Produced by Mariano García, one of Spain's most prestigious winemakers, this red wine from Ribera del Duero is sourced from 60 to 90-year-old vines which were meticulously harvested by hand at dawn.
Once in the cellar, this magnum red wine was carefully selected and destemmed. Then the very best grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
The malolactic fermentation of this red wine from Ribera del Duero was carried out in new French oak barrels. After that, Aalto PS 2020 Magnum was aged for 21 months in the barrels.
This impressive reserva red wine is produced only in exceptional vintages. It should evolve nicely in the bottle.

The red wine Aalto PS is deep purple with some ruby and indigo reflections.
This varietal Tinto Fino is ripe, lush and creamy. Sumptuous aromas of exotic spices, chocolate and fine wood, with intoxicating suggestions of sour cherries and wild berries, undergrowth and liquorice, punctuated by some mineral and earthy remembrances.
This wine of Bodegas Aalto is ripe, sensuous and generously oaked, with a lavish texture, a gently toasted core and a lively acidity. Amazing concentration of black fruit, with dusty tannins and a very long finish with a chalky and spicy aftertaste.
