Red Wine Abadal Crianza 2016
Availability: In stock
Harvested at dusk to preserve the freshness of the fruit, after a careful selection the grapes were separately vinified according to the specific needs of each plot and each variety.
Once fermentation and maceration were completed, the wine musts were blended, after which they underwent malolactic fermentation.
Produced by the Abadal winery, this Crianza red wine was then aged for 10 months in 225-litre French, American and Central European oak barrels, new and 3 years of age.
Finally, Abadal Crianza 2016 was aged for some months in the bottle prior to its commercial release.
The wine Abadal Crianza has a clean, bright, intense cherry colour with some purple tinges.
The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, plus the rich array of oak types used to age the wine, results in a very expressive nose. Aromas of blackberries, plums and blackcurrants, along with notes of green bell pepper, balsam and garrigue over a mineral background.
Expressive, meaty and well-balanced, this wine from Bodegas Abadal suggests some intense balsamic notes, combined with notions of red and black fruit, deep mineral notions and some spicy and salty touches. This Pla de Bages red wine has some yummy tannins and a long, balsamic finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Elegant and powerful, Abadal Crianza 2016 is an honest red wine that pairs wonderfully with game dishes.
