White Wine Abadal Picapoll 2020

The Abadal winery, by the way, has been the main responsible of this fortunate recovery.
This varietal Spanish white wine is made from vines located at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level.
Hand-harvested, the grapes were macerated with the skins for 10 hours, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then Abadal Picapoll 2020 was aged on its lees for 3 months in those same tanks. Finally, it was filtered and clarified.
Pair this white wine from Pla de Bages with fish recipes. This is excellent, for instance, with grilled salmon.
The white wine Abadal Picapoll is pale golden with some waxy tinges.
This varietal Picapoll shows lively notes of citrus and tropical fruit, with notes of flowers and balsam over a subtle mineral background.
This wine from Bodegas Abadal is delicately unctuous and silky, with a very good acidity and a lively character. Long, fruity finish with remembrances of fennel and white flowers.

Despite its youth, Abadal Picapoll 2020 is quite engaging. A different kind of white wine.
