Product Description

Winemaker Albert Jané presents the new vintage of this Spanish red wine from Montsant.

As usual, Acústic is a blend of the traditional varieties, namely 65% Samsó (Carignan) and 35% Grenache, coming from vines 35 to 70 years of age.

The vines of the Acustic Celler winery are spread over different locations in the Monstant DO. They grow at an altitude between 300 and 700 metres above sea level, in sandy soils with low levels of organic matter.

The grapes of this red wine from Montsant were carefully selected in the vineyard, destemmed and cold-soaked for 15 days. Then they were gently crushed and, after 24 hours, the wine must was fermented and transferred into 2nd year French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 10 months.

Finally, Acústic 2017 was neither filtered nor clarified prior to its bottling. Decant 30 minutes before drinking.

Drink now until 2023.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Acústic has a clean, bright, medium-high, cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

This red wine from Montsant exhibits some characteristic notes of juicy red fruit, black fruit and some hints of spices, balsam and flowers. This blend of Carignan & Grenache also suggests some nice toasted remembrances over a mineral background.

Very honest, this crianza red wine is defined by lively notes of red fruit, a delicate minerality and notes of Mediterranean undergrowth. As is usually the case with Montsant wines, this wine by Acústic Celler has an amazing freshness and a very good acidity. Yummy tannins and a long, mineral finish.

Our personal opinion

The winemaker Albert Jané conveys the spirit of Montsant like very few others. Acústic 2017 is a great expression of the land at a very affordable price.

This has been my "table wine" -I just love the expression- for many weeks. It has character, intensity and a good definition.
