Product Description

A single estate wine, Albet i Noya Finca La Milana is produced from vines 25 to over 100 years old, grown in the heart of Penedès.

Interestingly, this Spanish red wine is a blend of Caladoc -a crossing of Grenache and Malbec created in 1958- Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) and Merlot. The grapes are sorted from 11 plots of south-oriented vineyards located at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level.

Separately harvested, the grapes were carefully selected and destemmed. Fermentation lasted 8 days, after which the wine was macerated for a period of 18 days.

Then this organic red wine was drawn off and transferred into French oak barrels, where it was aged for 18 months.

Finally, Albet i Noya Finca La Milana 2016, by the Albet i Noya winery, was neither stabilized nor clarified. To preserve its character, the wine was only delicately filtered before its bottling.

Decant this red wine from Penedès a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Albet i Noya La Milana has a high, cherry-coloured robe with some ruby glints.

This blend of Caladoc, Ull de Llebre and Merlot has an appealing aromatic profile. Complex, ever-evolving notes of wild berries and dry earth, alongside notes of spices and a rich panoply of balsamic remembrances, such as lavender, pine needles, resin and underbush.

Medium-bodied and smooth, this Crianza red wine is fruit-driven and terroir-bound.There is a gentle mineral core, with some ripe tannins, a great acidity and a long, savoury finish with remembrances of black fruit and some bitter notes.

great wine
A wine still in the making. Challenging, with plenty of information to ponder on.

Serious red wine. Impressingly complex, some geeky varieties here I had never heard before. Super good.
