Red Wine Algueira Mencía 2019
Availability: In stock
A varietal Mencía, the grapes are sourced from vineyards located on the dizzying slopes of the Sil river. The climate combines both Atlantic and Mediterranean elements, and the vines are 30 years old on average.
Hand-harvested and fully destemmed, the grapes were first cold-macerated at a temperature of 10ºC in stainless steel tanks. After that, they were fermented under controlled temperature for 18 days. Finally. Algueira Mencía 2019 was clarified and stabilized before bottling.
Pair this young red wine with rice dishes, white meat and oily fish recipes.
The red wine Algueira Mencía is medium cherry with a maroon rim.
This is a transparent expression of the Mencía variety. Sour cherries and raspberries, with dim mineral notes, a dash of bitter herbs, and some balsamic and zesty intimations. Charming.
This wine from Adega Algueira is crisp, energetic and supple. Alcohol passes almost unnoticed, acidity is excellent and tannins are just a tad rugged. Long finish with a mineral and berryish aftertaste.
|Our personal opinion||
This is truly a wine for all seasons. That being said, be sure to chill Algueira Mencía 2019 if you enjoy it in the summer time.
