Product Description

The Cellers Avgvstvs Forvm produces the Augustus Cabernet Franc from some of the scarce Cabernet Franc vineyards existing in Catalonia.

Located only 3 km from the sea, the plants grow under a mild mediterranean climate.

After the harvest, the grapes were macerated for 11 days with the skins and then fermented under a strict temperature control.

Then this Spanish red wine was aged for 16 months in 300-litre 2nd and 3rd year French oak barrels.

Finally, this varietal red wine from Penedès from the DO Penedès was gently filtered and clarified before its bottling. Before its commercial release, it was further aged for 12 months in the bottle.

Aerate Augustus Cabernet Franc 2015 30 minutes before drinking.

6,666 devilishly good bottles produced.

This wine won the Vinari de Bronze 2019 in the age-worthy red wine category.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The Spanish red wine Augustus Cabernet Franc has a nice, medium-low cherry-coloured robe with some garnet tinges.

Very expressive and fresh, this crianza red wine from Penedès exhibits some delicate aromas of lilies and violets, alongside some vegetal notions, hints of wild berries and notes of toast, clove, Jamaican pepper and cocoa. An understated, yet highly suggestive personality this wine has.

Pleasant and elegant, this wine by Augustus Forum has a smooth, suave body and a savoury texture. Red fruit, green bell pepper, white pepper and some floral remembrances. Very good acidity and mild tannins. Clean, fresh finish.

Our personal opinion

A nicely crafted Cabernet Franc, very original, Augustus Cabernet Franc 2015 by Avgvstvs Forvm simply exudes class.

Cabernet augustus
Yummy tobacco leaves and dark chocolate, with a note of Provence herbs. Drinks nicely.

Cab Franc geek here. I tried this after dozens of good or very good Loire Cab Francs. Nothing to regret. Nice varietal character with a medium body. Very satisfying.
