Product Description

Made solely from Tinta Fina, Avante 2011 is a single estate wine coming from a vineyard called "La Nava" that was planted in 1960.

Composed mainly of limestone soils and located at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level, the vines grown in "La Nava" have to endure a harsh continental climate, with abundant freezes and snowfalls.

Crafted in Ribera del Duero by the Bodegas Ordóñez winery, the wine was produced following traditional methods. Meticulously harvested and selected, alcoholic fermentation of the grapes took place in stainless steel tanks. Transferred into French and American oak barrels, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 22 months in the barrels.

Prior to its bottling, the wine was not filtered in order to preserve its particular character.

We recommend that you aerate the wine 20 minutes before you drink it.

Additional Information
Additional Information

This wine from Ribera del Duero has a dark, bright cherry colour with a garnet rim.

Avante 2011 shows intense notes of plums, a dash of spices, some creamy, wooden notes and a resonating, deep mineral background.

Palate-coating notes of jammy black fruit, notions of moka, cinnamon and vanilla and a touch of pepper. Good, tense acidity, delectable tannins and pleasant finish.

imposing wine
Earthy, rocky and dark. Very profound, at times almost overpowering. Anyway, it is worth trying it.
