Here, that popular variety is blended with a tiny amount of Viura (about 10% of the blend).
This Spanish white wine is produced from vines about 30 years of age, scattered over different plots belonging to the DO Rueda. The vines are gobelet and trellis trained, and they grow in gravelly and limestone soils.
Harvested both manually and mechanically, Basa 2019 was fermented in stainless steel tanks and left to rest for a short time before being bottled.
This young white wine has a mild, rather attractive complexity.
The white wine Basa has a clean, bright, straw yellow colour with golden tinges.
This blend of Verdejo and Viura is lively and fragrant, with intense notes of tropical fruit and citrus, alongside hints of flowers and aromatic herbs.
This young white wine by Telmo Rodríguez is expressive and fresh. Remembrances of passion fruit and mango, alongside some notions of lemon rind, grapefruit rind and some bitter touches of aromatic herbs. Good acidity and nice finish with some bitter remembrances, typical of a white wine from Rueda.
|Our personal opinion||
Riper than previous vintages, Basa 2019 also shows a surprisingly floral character. An excellent value that pairs very well with white fish dishes.
