Red Wine Biu de Sort Negre 2018
Availability: In stock
A high-altitude, single varietal Spanish red wine produced by Celler Batlliu de Sort, Biu de Sort Negre is made from grapevines grown at an altitude of 850 metres above sea level in Pallars Sobirà (Lleida), northern Catalonia.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks with frequent punch-downs and pump-overs, the wine subsequently completed malolactic fermentation in the same deposits.
Finally, Biu de Sort Negre 2018 was aged in stainless steel containers for over a period of 10 months.
Drink this high-altitude red wine until 2024.
The red wine Biu de Sort has a clean, pale, medium-low cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
A wine with a well-defined varietal character, this varietal Pinot Noir from Costers del Segre exhibits pristine aromas of red berries and flowers, combined with deep, intense remembrances of aromatic herbs, menthol, balsam and some mineral undertones.
Fresh, linear and full of tension, Biu de Sort by Celler Batlliu de Sort is both easy to drink and very lively. Remembrances of juicy red berries, flowers and undergrowth, crisp acidity and ripe tannins. Long, savoury finish.
|Our personal opinion||
An unlikely Pinot Noir from the Catalan Pyrenées, Biu de Sort Negre 2018 is nevertheless an excellent one.
