-And the blog? What about it?

-Yes, it is true. We haven't been posting much lately.

-Posting much, you say? You have posted nothing since July 2013. What have you been doing? Drinking like crazy?

-Ahem, well, not exactly... We have had to... We have had to deal with very complex issues, you know? So complex I wouldn't know where to begin...

-Yes, sure! Choosing between thousands of wonderful Spanish wines is surely an extremely complex matter. Poor chap! What an exhausting job you have! You spent all your time drinking those incredible wines and then you write your tasting notes. It's not surprising that, at the end of the day, you have no time left for the blog.

-Ok, you're right. My first sentence was an understatement. Now let me explain. This has been a frantic, exciting year for all of us at Enterwine. As you may know, building an online store from scratch is not a easy task. There are so many things to do, so many problems to solve, that you have very little time to communicate with your customers on a regular basis. Things are settling down, though. Now we're back in full swing.

-So, what are you planning to write about?

-Our main aim is to open up new vistas to the exciting, ever-evolving world of the Spanish wine. Let's face it: Spain has undergone a true wine revolution over the last 20 years, and we at enterwine think that more aficionados should be aware of it. Concerning this, I remember that some respected wine critic once said that Spain was “the old world's new world”.

-What did he mean by that?

-I think he meant that Spain is a country with a wine tradition dating back almost 3,000 years that, at the same, is only beginning to fulfill its true potential to produce great wines. The Spanish wine industry has undergone dramatic changes. Winemaking techniques have been upgraded. An ecological conscience has risen. Dozens of native grapes have been rediscovered. Last but not least, long-forgotten, magic terroirs have been recovered and are being cultivated again. Do you want some names? Ok, here we go: Priorat, Bierzo, Ribeira Sacra, Toro, Manchuela, Montsant, Jumilla, Gredos, Terra Alta...

-That sounds good! I want to know more about this stuff. I just hope I won't have to wait another year to hear from you again.

-You won't. That's a promise.
