Following the current Grenache hype - a, for once, more than justified one - the 2017 vintage of Bruberry is a single varietal Grenache.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were fermented and macerated for 14-18 days in stainless steel tanks. Then the wine was aged on its lees for some months in those same tanks and in concrete vats.
Finally, Bruberry 2017 was aged for a further year in the bottle before its release.
Aerate this red wine from Montsant some time before drinking. Drink over the next 4-5 years.
The wine Bruberry has a very bright, clear, medium crimson coloured-robe with a violet rim.
Fragrant and fresh, this Grenache from Montsant suggests aromas of red berries, black fruit and wet earth, underpinned by notions of aromatic herbs, Mediterranean garrigue and dim mineral suggestions.
Zippy and linear, this young red wine by Portal del Montsant has a very good acidity and an easy passage through the palate. Bramble and redcurrants, some remembrances of a Mediterranean forest, and subtle mineral hints. Mild tannins and a medium, pleasant finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Excellent and easy-to-drink, Bruberry 2017 is a delicious Grenache from Montsant perfect for laid-back occasions.
