This is the new vintage of La Rosa, produced by winemaker Pepe Raventós through his new, terroir-oriented, environmentally friendly project, the Can Sumoi winery.
This organic Spanish rosé wine, formerly produced by Raventós i Blanc, is made from vineyards located nearby Can Sumoi, a magnificient estate surrounded by Mediterranean forests and located in Serra de L'Home, at an altitude of 650 metres above sea level, in the highest area belonging to the DO Penedès.
All of the farming and winemaking processes, both at the vineyard and in the cellar, are performed following organic and biodynamic procedures and minimal intervention techniques.
This natural wine is made from a truly indigenous blend of Xarel·lo, Sumoll and Parellada grapes. Harvested during August and September, they were destemmed, lightly crushed and macerated for 4 hous with the skins. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. Then Can Sumoi La Rosa 2019 completed a spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
This organic rosé wine was not filtered or stabilized before its bottling. Drink over the current year.
This is a bright, clean organic rosé wine from Penedès. Can Sumoi La Rosa has a nice onion-skin colour with a salmon coloured rim.
This peculiar blend of red and white grapes, La Rosa de Can Sumoi, is extremely delicate on the nose. Suggestions of wild berries, and a distinctive note of pears, alongside a classy bouquet of white flowers and fragrant roses.
Fresh, very pleasant, suggestive. Light-bodied, dry and inviting, with lively remembrance of cherries and raspberries and a great acidity. This young rosé wine by Can Sumoi is very pure, with a pleasant finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Elegant and unusually delicate, the fresh, dry Can Sumoi La Rosa 2019 pairs well light dishes, pasta, pizzas and oriental food. It is also great by the glass.
