The grapes were manually harvested, destemmed, and cold-soaked for several days.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks, this Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero was then transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was subsequently aged for 15 months. During the period, it was drawn off every 3 months.
Finally, Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2016 was bottled and aged for a further 12 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
Drink until 2024.
The red wine Carmelo Rodero Crianza has a purple colour with some maroon tinges.
An expressive blend of Tempranillo (Tinta del País) and Cabernet Sauvignon, with lively aromas of red and black fruit, some vegetal remembrances, and elegant notes of spices, underbrush, with some hints of cocoa, coffee and tobacco.
Smooth and inviting, this Crianza red wine suggests subtle notes of black fruit and spices, alongside some mineral notes and creamy nuances. This red wine by the Carmelo Rodero winery is medium-bodied and well-balanced, with a good acidity, yummy tannins and a long, fresh ending.

An excellent value, Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2016 by Bodegas Rodero pairs excellently with many kinds of food. Aerate the wine a little before you drink it.
