Product Description
Details

The red wine Carmelo Rodero Crianza is a blend of 90% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, both coming from vines planted at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level.

The grapes were manually harvested, destemmed and cold-macerated for several days.

Fermented in stainless steel tanks, this Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero was then transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was subsequently aged for 15 months. During the period, it was drawn off every 3 months.

Finally, Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2019 was bottled and aged for a further 12 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.

Decant this imposing Crianza red wine from Bodegas Rodero minimum of 30 minutes before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Carmelo Rodero Crianza has a purple colour with a Burgundy rim.

Nose

This is an expressive blend of Tinta del País and Cabernet Sauvignon, with lively aromas of cranberries and bilberries, some vegetal remembrances and elegant notes of spices, underbrush, with some hints of cocoa, coffee and tobacco.

Palate

This red wine from the Carmelo Rodero winery is medium-bodied and well-balanced, with a good acidity and lively tannins. Smooth and gently spicy, with a long, delicately earthy finish reminiscent of wild berries and scrubland.

Our personal opinion

A remarkable value, Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2019 pairs excellently with hearty dishes. Remember to aerate the wine before you drink it.
