This varietal Tempranillo is produced from estate-grown grapes coming from the highest vineyards of the winery. Situated in Castrillo de Duero, an area with a Contintental climate, the vineyards have clay-limestone soils, which have traditionally been considered the best suited to the Tempranillo variety.
Both the alcoholic and the malolactic fermentation of this red wine from Ribera del Duero were carried out in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After that, Cepa 21 2020 was transferred into French oak barrels and aged for 12 months.
Pair this Crianza red wine with cold meats, aged cheese and roast recipes.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
The red wine Cepa 21 is deep ruby with a garnet rim.
This varietal Tempranillo is intense and characteristic, with a delightfully transparent Ribera character. Wild berries and black cherries, with notes of cumin, clove and cedar and some notes of forest floor and earth.
Powerful, but impeccably balanced, this wine from Bodegas Cepa 21 has a spectacular acidity, a feature of most wines coming from high-altitude vines. Creamy and spicy, with fine grained tannins and perfectly ripe black fruit. Balsamic and increasingly mineral as it gets exposed to air, with a long finish.
