This Spanish Crianza red wine is made from grapes grown in the Costers del Segre DO, located in the Pre-Pyrenees area of Catalonia. It is produced by Celler Cérvoles, a member of the association of high-quality wine producers Grandes Pagos de España since 2002.
It is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Grenache and Merlot, coming from vines with an average age of 30 years located at an altitude around 700 metres above sea level, in an area known as Serra de Llena.
The soils are composed of sand and clay, with an abundance of gravel on the surface. Temperature differences between daytime and nighttime are great. This factor favours a slow, steady ripening of the grapes, which are farmed following organic procedures.
Harvested by hand and separately vinified, the grapes were destemmed and separately vinified in steel tanks. After that, Cérvoles was blended and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Remarkably complex, this Crianza red wine by Cérvoles Celler begins with aromas of cassis, plums and blackcurrants that slowly evolve into remembrances of clove, cardamom, cocoa and cinnamon, combined with notes of menthol, withered leaves, wet tobacco and some intense mineral overtones.
This remarkable high-altitude red wine from Costers del Segre has a smooth texture and a substantial volume. Liquorice, underbush, wild berries, black truffles, vegetables, spices and balsam. Tense acidity, ripe tannins and very long finish with remembrances of amarena cherries, menthol and toast. There are plenty of things to discover here.
