Product Description
Details

Produced in the DO Montsant, Cingles Blaus Octubre is made from Grenache and Carignan.

The grapes come from two plots, one composed of slate soils, and the other composed of rocky soils with pebble stones. Harvested and gently crushed, the grapes were cold-soaked for about 24 hours to extract colour and aromas from the skins.

Fermented in stainless steel tanks, Cingles Blaus Octubre 2019 was left in contact with its lees for some days and then underwent malolactic fermentation in 2nd year Central European oak barrels.

Finally, this red wine from Montsant was aged for 6 months in the barrels.

Aerate this Spanish red wine of the Cingles Blaus winery 20 minutes before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Cingles Blaus has a very bright, gleaming cherry colour with some violet glints.

Nose

This blend of Grenache and Carignan has a rich nose. Floral and fresh aromas of ripe berries, ripe figs, liquorice, violets and Mediterranean undergrowth, combined with subtle notes of peaches, strawberry preserves, spices and toast.

Palate

This wine of the Cingles Blaus winery is mild and pleasant, with a linear character and some elegantly bitter touches. Fruit, flowers and liquorice. Very good acidity, great freshness and a long, balsamic finish.

Our personal opinion

Accessible and honest, Cingles Blaus Octubre 2019 makes for a good everyday wine.

Good wine from Montsant. Similar to some Priorats, but half the price.
