Details

This expressive Spanish red wine from Montsant is produced by Bodega Cingles Blaus.

Made principally from GrenacheCingles Blaus Selecció benefits from a touch of some deeply mineral, old-vines Carignan.

The grapes were picked by hand, meticulously selected, carefully destemmed and gently crushed. Then they were macerated for 12-24 hours and fermented in stainless steel tanks.

After that, Cingles Blaus Selecció 2018 was transferred into new French oak barrels and aged for about 13 months.

Decant this Crianza red wine 1 hour before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Cingles Blaus Selecció has a very bright, intense, high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Nose

Blackberries, cranberries, aromatic herbs, menthol and some deep mineral notes. This blend of Grenache & Carignan also insinuates some hints of flowers, cocoa, clove, cinnamon, toast and coffee.

Palate

Big and meaty, but not overripe or jellylike. Bodega Cingles Blaus has crafted a wine with an excellent acidity, some yummy tannins and a solid structure. Ripe red fruit, notes of toast and Eastern spices, remembrances of After Eight mints and some mineral undertones. This Crianza red wine has a long, complex finish.

Our personal opinion

Produced in a, so to speak, "New World" fashion, Cingles Blaus Selecció 2018 will delight the lovers of Australian red wines.

Value
Big and bold on the palate, with plenty of fruit and a fabulous ending. Not overdone, rather precise.
